C’est après la naissance de leur belle amitié que les sept membres du Greenhouse Ensemble ont eu la chance de collaborer pour la production de leur premier album intitulé Rez-de-Chaussée. À la croisée de plusieurs styles et influences, cet album vibrant représente la rencontre de ces sept esprits créatifs.

Pour le groupe, la maison verte est un thème récurrent. Tant évoqué par le nom du groupe - qui a été inspiré par le nom de leur première résidence artistique - le thème de la maison est par ailleurs ressenti par les membres à titre de métaphore : un espace sain et familier pour improviser, explorer et créer sans limites.

Le Rez-de-Chaussée c’est, pour le septet, là où tout commence. C'est là où les fondations du projet sont ancrées. C’est un endroit chaleureux où on peut feuilleter un livre tranquille, mais aussi recevoir des amis. La lumière naturelle y est agréable, même durant l’hiver. C’est de la musique parfois agitée et entraînante, mais aussi parfois douce et réconfortante.

It was after the birth of their beautiful friendship that the seven members of the Greenhouse Ensemble had the chance to collaborate for the production of their first album entitled Rez-de-Chaussée. At the crossroads of several styles and influences, this vibrant album represents the meeting of these seven creative minds.

For the band, the “green house” is a recurring theme. Evoked by the name of the group - which was inspired by the name of their first artistic residence - the theme of the house is also felt by the members as a metaphor: a healthy and familiar space to improvise, explore and create without any limits.

In french, “Rez-de-Chaussée” means the ground floor. For the septet, it’s where it all begins ; this is where the foundations of the project are anchored. It is a warm place where you can leaf through a book with a cup of coffee, but also receive friends with a glass of wine. The natural light is pleasant, even during the winter. The music of the Greenhouse Ensemble is sometimes restless and catchy music, but can also be soft and comforting.
